Assistant Controller

To further strengthen the organization, we are looking for a Assistant Controller.

The position
Our Assistant Controller is responsible for the execution of all financial operations and processes at Tagworks Pharmaceuticals. This includes accounts payable, financial closings, VAT and non-US payroll accounting. You prepare quarterly management reports and assist in providing documentation for external auditors and reporting purposes. At a practical level, you are responsible for administration and monitoring of purchase orders, supporting our business users in the invoicing workflow system, coding and matching of invoices and purchase orders, communication with vendors, preparing payment runs and processing various bank transactions in our accounting systems. For the quarterly closings you prepare analyses, post journal entries and reconcile specifications to our accounting system. To support our payroll, you review monthly mutations for non-US employees, you reconcile and validate payroll transactions prior to transmission, you process monthly payroll journal entries and you monitor taxation of salaries and benefits. To support the audit process, you deliver the “prepared by client” items for auditors in a timely manner. In your role, you report directly to the Director Finance who is based in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

The requirements
We expect our Assistant Controller to bring 3-5 years of experience in a similar role and/or educational background in accounting/financial administration. Experience in a biotech or biopharma company is a plus. You have affinity with process automation and are able to work diligently in a fast-paced environment. You are capable of planning and organizing your work effectively and you achieve targets within an agreed-upon timeframe. Besides this, you have well-developed communication and reporting skills in English. You have the ability to successfully collaborate with multiple key stakeholders and project teams. You are pragmatic, solution-oriented thinker who possesses a “can do” attitude. You need to have a Dutch working permit to qualify for this vacancy.
